New Year's Is Around the Corner!

Have your plans set in stone but nothing to wear? Take a few tips from shopgirls:

1) When in doubt, go with the always-appropriate LBD: Little Black Dress

2) Make a statement with metallics

3) Jump start the New Year with a jolt of color

4) Arrive looking sleek and eye-catching in a long dress

Other helpful tips to stay looking fresh and fabulous all night:

* Drink grapefruit juice throughout the day of the big night.
It's high in Vitamin C, which can aid in recovery from champagne overload. Even better, it absorbs starches and sugars in the body, which can cause bloating. You'll be feeling and looking good when you slip on your party-perfect dress!

* Allow moisturizer to dry before applying makeup.
Your skin will have time to absorb the moisture and any oil that can cause makeup to melt during the night.

* Use oils instead of parfume.
The scent is more concentrated so they last longer on your skin and you won't have to reapply as often. Apply to pressure points - inside of wrists, elbows, neck, cleavage and behind the knees. Don't rub wrists together because this breaks down the scent.

* Keep your hands off of your hair.
Especially if you have an up-do, playing with your hair all night is a sure-fire way to mess things up. Even if wearing your hair down, running your hands through it draws up oils from your scalp, leaving you weighed down and greasy by sunrise.

* Reserve a cab ride before the night gets started.
Some cab companies allow you make reservations. This way, when everyone else is trying to find a ride home you won't be at a loss for a safe and quick escape!
